Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem, Palestine
The Mission of Zahrat Al-Yasmeen Kindergarten
To provide a safe place for children to learn about their world in a nurturing environment, develop intellectually, socially and emotionally, and prepare them to enter primary school and participate confidently and constructively in family and community life.

Inclusivity
The only kindergarten in Bethlehem that incorporates students with accessibility needs into the standard classroom setting.

Emergency Scholarships
Due to large scale economic precariousness in the West Bank, all the students at Zahrat Al-Yasmeen are on 100% temporary scholarship, allowing students to continue their education uninterrupted.

School Fees
During the 2023-2024 school year the per pupil fee was 2,150 NIS (645 USD), divided into enrollment, uniforms, and registration fees.

Trauma Support
Surrounded by apartheid walls and only meters away from an Israeli checkpoint, students see the impact of being confined, limited, violated, and repressed daily. Our social workers, experienced in trauma, support our students facing this daily reality.

Mission Statement:
Friends of Zahrat Al-Yasmeen Kindergarten was created by educators and activists to build a community of care and support for the children and their teachers. The children and their families live under military occupation, apartheid laws and economic scarcity.
We at Friends of Zahrat Al-Yasmeen know how important it is for these young children to have a safe and inclusive place to learn, play and express themselves, especially in the midst of ongoing violence and trauma.
We commit ourselves to supporting the work of our partners, the teachers and families at Zahrat Al-Yasmeen Kindergarten; to build capacity, community, and hope through fundraising and solidarity.
